Hot work pass training (Meyer Turku Oy) 09.00

Meyer Turku shipyard is taking steps to move over to in-house hot work pass training this year. The training that qualifies personnel for hot works will be called hot work pass training. The hot work pass training will replace the currently valid national hot work permit (SPEK) requirement and become mandatory for everyone undertaking hot works as of 1.1.2022.

The new hot work pass training programme includes on-line study via computer, covering e.g. hot work risk levels, permit-based hot works that require such levels, and practical hot work exercises with fire extinguishing training. The maximum duration of the hot work pass training is two-three hours.

The on-line training material has been translated into several different languages, which for its part supports efficient learning and makes it easier to give active student feedback. This improves the overall fire safety at the Turku shipyard. Those who pass the training will receive their own hot work pass card, firewatch ribbon, and a hot work brochure. The hot work pass is valid for five (5) years and only at Meyer Turku site.
